ia.cmm at Control 2005

Report from ia.cmm Chairman
ia.cmm Stand at CONTROL 2005 – Sinsheim, Germany

ia.cmm stand at Control 2005CONTROL 2005 show was held in Sinsheim (Germany) from April 26th to 29th. This fair, which has become one of the most important in the world for Metrology, saw all the major CMM manufacturers present with their most advanced products. ia.cmm, the International Association of Co-ordinate Measuring Machine Manufacturers, was also present with its own stand. ia.cmm for the first time participated to a show with the intent of putting into practice one of the most important goals of its mission: to support Standards in CMM technology. Thanks to some of its Members, such as:

> Carl Zeiss Industrielle Meβtechnik GmbH
> Hexagon Metrology SpA
> Renishaw Plc
> Trimek Metrological Engineering
> Wenzel Präzision GmbH
> and the Participation of UGS Tecnomatix, it has been possible to demonstrate I++ / DME interoperability.

This event has also been planned and carried out in co-operation with two very important US institutions such as, AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group) and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) with whom ia.cmm shares interests and objectives.

A remarkable number of Users visited the Association booth to finally see, for the first time in Europe, the I++ / DME interoperability concepts become true.

I wish here to thank all the Professionals of our Team who, during four days of show, demonstrated the various machines and software.

Many thanks also to the show Organisation P.E. Schall GmbH - Fairs & Exhibitions and, in particular, Mrs. Gitta Schlaak for their kind and professional support. CONTROL 2005 confirmed the trend of a rapidly and constantly growing event; year after year in this show the number of both Exhibitors and Visitors increases significantly.

And, last but not the least, many thanks to Mr. Christoph Ehrler of Renishaw GmbH who gave us a very important support in Germany during the booth planning and realisation phase.

Finally, I deem that ia.cmm contributed to the promotion and diffusion of one of the most ambitious and important subject ever pursued in CMM technology.
