The purpose of the Association is to support and to promote the interests of the world-wide industry of coordinate measuring machines technologies, in particular by means of:
- Development of human skills by education and training
- Promotion and development of common standards of hardware and software user interfaces to satisfy customer requirements
- Development of modern methods and standards for both service and user training
- Promotion of and support in the adoption of standards for metrology performance testing
- Initiation, maintenance and support of a forum for the exchange of experience between CMM users and CMM manufacturers
- Serving as a competent and active partner to all international organizations and working groups in the field of CMM-technologies and areas related to it giving users worldwide the assurance machine performance is verified by CMM manufacturers in compliance with the regulations, methods and equipment stipulated by international standards.
