ia.cmm - the association of CMM manufacturers - supports users in properly selecting and using 3D measuring systems.
ia.cmm, the International Association of Coordinate Measuring Machine Manufacturers, was founded in late 2001 as an international non-profit organization for the world-wide promotion of the coordinate measuring machine business and technology. The Association, based in Zurich, Switzerland, groups all leading vendors of universal multiple coordinate measuring machines, and offers key services aimed at helping CMM customers realize all the benefits offered by coordinate measuring.
In view of today's emphasis on quality, productivity, and information management, ia.cmm focuses on developing human skills by education and training, promoting and implementing common standards of hardware and software user interfaces, and providing modern methods and standards for metrology performance examination as well as service and user training.
The Association also serves as a competent and active partner to all international organizations and working groups in the field of CMM technology, and gives users worldwide the assurance that the machine performance is verified by CMM manufacturers in compliance with the regulations, methods, and equipment stipulated by international standards.
To help engineers and managers stay up to speed with evolving measurement technology, and provide the level of understanding that permits users to put CMM systems to their most effective use, ia.cmm initiated, maintains, and supports a forum for the exchange of experience between CMM users and CMM manufacturers.
